We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Salon Assistant to join our team and support our senior stylist in delivering top-tier service to their clientele.

Job Summary:
As a Salon Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations at the salon. Your responsibilities will include addressing new and existing client inquiries, assisting with client services, maintaining a clean and organized salon space, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to our salon's social media presence. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience working with natural, curly, coily, and kinky hair textures and to truly understand what it takes to run your own salon business!

Responsibilities:
Client Interaction:
• Complete front desk duties, such as booking appointments, answering calls, and processing payments when needed
• Greet clients warmly and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit
• Educate clients on basic hair care routines and recommend products
• Generate honest Google and Vagaro client reviews

Stylist Support:
• Assist stylists with detangling, shampooing, conditioning, color and treatment applications for textured hair clients
• Provide scalp massages directed by stylist
• Assist with preparing hair for styling, including sectioning, twisting, or blow-drying as needed

Salon Maintenance:
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon equipment and space
• Keep tools and products sanitized and properly stored
• Ensure product inventory is stocked for retail sales as well as salon use

Social Media Management:
• Assist with content creation for various social media platforms
• Stay up to date on textured hair trends, products, and techniques as it pertains to social media

Qualifications:
• Passion for the beauty and hair industry, with a focus on textured hair
• Basic knowledge of natural hair care techniques and products
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must be punctual, professional, and eager to learn
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, if required
• Cosmetology student or recent graduate of a Hairstyling Diploma Program is a plus but not required
• Prior experience in a salon setting is a plus but not required
• Content creation is a plus but not required
