I have a purebred female spayed Shiba inu. She is 2 years old, born Jan. 3, 2023. She is looking for a good home. Gemma has been raised with dogs, cats and kids. However, I would suggest going to a home with older kids if any, and she can sometimes be snappy with certain dogs. I would suggest she goes to a home with no dogs unless the owner is very experienced with animals and is willing to stay on top of her training. She can be very good off-leash as long as she is in an area suitable. Her recall sucks so being in an area with people, cars and other animals, I would highly suggest she stays on leash. Due to her size, wearing a harness is recommended (which she will come with). She does not come when she's called. She comes when she feels like it. Shiba Inus have the personality of a cat rather than a dog lol so, please know about the breed before enquiring.
Gemma is up-to-date on her vaccines, deworming and flea preventative. Will be due in the summer for her vaccinations. She is also microchipped. I am looking for a very good home with someone who will take good care of her. She is just not the type of dog for our lifestyle. She is extremely active. However, a farm home is not suitable since she has a high prey drive. She would absolutely love to eat live chickens if she has the chance. Gemma is a very loving dog, she would just love to be a lapdog if she could (as long as she gets enough exercise). Im not a lapdog kind of person so I feel like she would be much happier with someone who would spoil her with love and cuddles. She is crate trained (with food and water in the crate when she is in it) And a very good dog, in general. She does bark when someone comes over to let you know that someone is here. However, she will stop once she realizes they are allowed to be there.
