This stunning two door coupe was treated to a frame off restoration. Powered by a 283 four barrel V8 engine with Powerglide automatic, independent front
suspension via upper and lower wishbones and coil springs, live rear axle with leaf springs, and four wheel drum brakes. It is as close to a showroom 1957 car as possible. Tuned up, brakes and fluids refreshed and ready to drive.
The Matador Red 1957 Bel Air may very well be one of the most iconic of all vintage American cars. Each and every component appears to be correct to this model, and it is restored properly down to the generator and power steering unit.
The exterior paint and body are very well executed with good fit to the doors and panel alignment. The grey vinyl with black cloth insert upholstery is excellent and looks right at home in the car. The overall high quality of this restoration is more typically found on a convertible, making this a great find.
I purchased this at the Classis Car (CCP) Auction in Fall 2022 from the gentleman that originally purchased it in 2012 from the Charlie Thomas Estate Collection.
I will not respond to "is this available". I might consider a compelling trade. A trade would need to be a classic car that doesn't need any body work or paint, though it could need a motor/interior.
