Description: It's a one-bedroom apartment with an attached private bathroom. It's part of a 5-bedroom suite, with a shared space between the 5 with a kitchen, fridge, stove, couch, and balcony. (It's located on the 5th floor).

Monthly rent: Is $765 a month from May to August 2025. (This is the total of how much you would pay every month.) The MARQ is raising their rates to $783 a month starting September 2025, if you want to keep renting it after that. (My lease will be terminated at the end of August 2025).

Included room amenities: Electricity, water, wi-fi, plumbing, heat. All the basic stuff really. Included Furnishings: Table, Bed, Dressers Included.

Transportation: A 2-5 minute at most walk to the nearest bus station, which has routes 201 and 31. Both lead to the university, making this have easy transportation to the university. Also a 5-minute walk to a bus station with bus route 7, which gives you quick access to downtown Waterloo, or uptown access to Conestoga Mall.

Amenities: There is a gym on the first floor (Though it requires a PIN), and either a study or laundry room on every floor.

Nearby Restaurants: Various restaurants within 15 minutes of walking distance. Most notably a McDonalds within 5 minutes, but also a Tim Hortons, a Subway, and some other eateries. Convenience store and pizzaria within 5 minute walk. There's a massive amount of restaurants in the plaza area at the intersection of King/Hickory.

Nearby Shopping: There's a No Frills within a 15 minute walk which is great for pretty much all my grocery needs within a 15 minute walk, right next to a Wholesale club (Think Costco minus the memberships), and a Canadian Tire for more Hardware/Kitchen Utensils stuff. There's also a Farm Boy which seems to be more focused on organic and fresh foods. If you do a lot of shopping, I recommend you buy one of those big wagons usually used for camping from Canadian Tire. It's basically like a portable shopping cart, and saves immensely on shopping time, as well as strain on your arms.

Keys and Locks: They give you an electronic key fob you hold up to a scanner to access the building or the room. It's has 1.5-2x the diameter of a quarter. Individual rooms have locks you lock from the inside. Bathrooms also have locks.

Noise: The apartment does get some noise (Mostly from passing cars, and occasionally what seems to be students setting off fireworks.). And the air vents mean you might be able to hear the other rooms. I recommend a good pair of earplugs, noise-cancelling headphones, or for you to be a you can buy them for a few dollars from the convienience store nearby. It's run by a friendly Korean couple. Their prices are above average though, so be advised. It's recommended you pay with a debit card or cash, since they're a local business, and banks charge money to small businesses when people use credit cards.

General neighborhood: The area seems to be home to quite a few fraternities, probably related to the nearby Laurier University. There's general trash and a somewhat sketchy vibe to the neighborhood. There are sometimes fireworks or loud noises at night. Though this is about the local neighborhood, the building itself is pretty great.

My own opinion: The apartment is pretty much ideal for anyone who's a student, doesn't like transportation, and needs a relatively cheap area to live in. Apartment is very newly made and well kept (Assuming you can maintain it that way), nothing about it is sketchy. There is a ridiculous amount of food and shopping nearby. Save for the occasional trip out for work, classes, or exams, you could legitimately spend most of your time within a bubble of 15 minutes of walking distance.
