VERY EXPERIENCED DRUM TEACHER IN MY SE STUDIO!

Description

I was introduced to the drums with a paint bucket, and a pair of spatulas. Coming from an extremely financially challenging background, my pair of spatulas gave me the drive to audition in the high school marching band. For years, I was exposed to the joy and discipline of learning a musical instrument. The learning curve was very steep, as there were many other kids that wanted in. I learned to sight read and learn snare drum rudiments in a very short period of time.
I was given my first drum set. It was indeed the ugliest, rusty old clunker I had ever seen. But you know what? I transferred almost everything from my hands to my feet. The rest was history.
The drums have the ability to move people. It is also like a human heart that supplies energy to other musicians. My first Rock & Roll concert was Rush. And I still miss the great Neil Peart. My advocate to all students:
1. Attend as many concerts as possible. Free or a splurge. Justin Bieber or Beyonce, ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers', Led Zeppelin, The Police, etc. You get to visualize the physical and emotional interaction between the musicians on stage(and if they screw up, they screw up together with a smile on their faces!).
2. Play music around the house as much as possible. Music is both healing and inspiring. Your body actually responds to frequencies. Download the app called ‘Radioooo'. Yes four ‘o's. And that takes you around the world to hear what music sounds like in other cultures.
3. If there are other musicians in the house, then jam with your kids. It is the most rewarding activity for a family to gel.
4. Take your kids to the music store. Going to the music store is still a big toy store to me(and I get good deals because I hop knob with the sales guys!).
5. As a drummer myself, playing to music is THE BEST way to improve on, and enjoy the drum set! They say mimicking is the highest form of flattery. Nothing like meeting your drum heroes. On that note, make sure that you have notifications on drum clinics that are available year round at your local music store(they also hand out free stuff like a high-end cymbal, or a signature snare drum!).
My rate is $50.00 per hour. I offer 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 1 hour lessons. My availability is Saturdays and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
