Original packaging, plastic end-caps never used -- replaced with wood-plates, included. Immaculate condition, no scratches, no signs of wear, no dents, never used outside of a smoke-free home, even the touchscreen is in AS NEW CONDITION, as is the rest of it.
It's been in controlled-storage nearly all its life, while owned by an extremely old man (me) who failed to learn how to play it -- as you might surmise from the perfectly aligned key-stickers. This thing was a humilliation for a first-timer, who was too scared of it to bring it out of storage. So, it's like new, for real.
In its base form, this synthesizer is a collectors item, but fully-loaded it is a workstation power-house. It has all the instrument extension packs and Roland's custom memory upgrade (maximum/fastest). In many ways this synthesizer is BETTER than the $10k-version they sell today, due to how "big" its sounds are. These days, you younguns use plasticy clack-boards with all-digital components, nothing is built like a tank using analogue thingies. Anyway, the lush voices include classics that just don't replicate as well in modern synthesizers, and the magic sequencer can record from back before you hit the record button, and the keybed...
The keybed is still Roland's top-of-the-line, except the 61-key, synth-action comes from a time when players were expressive, instead of being auto-quantized. The highly velocity-sensitive keybed is silky-smooth, with progressive-action, and polyphonic channel-aftertouch that sinks into your expression, instead of eeking it out like an angry-ostrich.
These synthesizers are usually quite hard to find, in good condition. Usually they are gnarly, "gigged-out" and they smell of stale beer and cigarettes. So, if this AS-NEW-CONDITION synthesizer is still listed, it may be because I was originally asking too much at $4k. I've been dropping the price, in stupid-small increments, and yeah, $4k was obscenely overpriced, even in our puny Canadian dollars. Unless you're a collector in New York, but here in (Oakville) Canada, we collect people who are escaping from New York.
America sure seems messed up lately, but I suppose we would think that, given the trade war, eh? Sorry if you guys are suffering from that. Just let us know if you need me to smuggle food to you, I'm sure I could fit some beaver tails and maple syrup, inside Roland's packaging... :)
