This is a used, in very good shape, fully functioning film camera, with a revolutionary optical (eye) focusing system, that was released by Canon in November 1998 and sold until 2007. EOS 3 was developed as a high-end SLR film camera for professionals and advanced amateurs. The camera has many innovative features such as 45-point Area auto-focus (AF), high-speed and precise Eye Controlled Focus, and 7 fps high-speed predictive AF continuous shooting mode. The optical AF system offers high subject-capturing and unrestricted framing capability. The camera offers 21-zone evaluative metering linked to the focusing points, multi-spot metering with up to eight readings per exposure and eight metering system, including E-TTL autoflash with Canon model 550Ex. Superb operability is achieved by dual electronic dials, 18 custom functions and a firm grip. The camera offers a high level of protection against moisture and dust, features a silent film rewind mode and high-performance 1/8000 sec. shutter unit. The camera also comes with a DOMKE gripper strap.

The camera comes with the original hand grip but is outfitted with Canon's BP-E1 Battery Pack for EOS 3. This battery pack offers you the option of dual-power sources; allowing quick switching between a standard 2CR5 lithium battery and 4 AA alkaline or NiCd batteries. Alternating between the 2CR5 battery and the (much cheaper, readily available) 4 AA batteries is just a matter of rotating a switch on the bottom of the battery pack. This battery pack has the added benefit or providing a larger, friendly ergonomic camera grip.
