Axten Farms is a diverse, vertically integrated, regenerative grain farm located just east of the Big Muddy Badlands in southern Saskatchewan.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Minton, SK, for a Farm Hand at Axten Family Farms.
We are looking for an applicant that shares our passion for soil health and regeneration. The ideal applicant would be interested taking an active role in day to day activites on our farm which includes; cropping about 10,000 acres annually, mostly spring planted crops including intercrop combinations and companion crops. We have a focus on biological systems and have a unique fertilty program that focuses on nutrient balacing and biological foods. We seed with a KHart Spyder drill and Vaderstad air cart, use Shelbourne stripper headers at harvest and we still actully swath some acres! We employ See and Spray tech as well as variable rate on the farm as a way to reduce our impact.
Along with typical farm operations, we also do the following; make compost, pull crop samples for sap analysis, mix and apply foliar blends, seed cover crops, build fence (we don't own cows....yet), mow around fields and yards, and help around the flour mill and warehouse when necessary.
Housing available in our nearby town or on one of our farm yards. We supply hot suppers during seeding and harvest, have a flexible schedule and offer retirement programs.

The qualifications are not required, but prefrence given to those with;
* Experince with JD guidance, equipment and Ops Center
* Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm equipment
* Skills in harvesting and crop management
* Knowledge in regenerative agriculture and farm operations
* Physical stamina and ability to work long hours outdoors
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks and responsibilities
* 1A License an asset but not required
