Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that a superior level of co-operation, service and support is provided to residents
Ensure building cleaning standards are maintained to the highest level
Perform routine cleaning schedule or carry out tasks as per demand.
Comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, operating machinery, reporting incidents, etc.)
Demonstrate flexibility, as tasks may change based on building requirements
Function as a core member of the operational team and report to the Manager/ Superviso. As a Cleaner you may be required to perform some of the following tasks as required by the Manager/Supervisor and needs of the client:
Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Dry/wet mop (wash/scrub) and polish hard surface floors. (The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with handheld or auto scrubbers. In large open spaces, automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions)
Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment (when required).
Steam clean or shampoo carpets (when required).
Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor.
Transport maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites.
Clean and store equipment and machinery used.
Clean washroom floors including stripping and finishing.
Clean stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Other duties that management may assign.
Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals (when required).
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public.
Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned as well as work in multiple locations.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare and maintain manual and electronic records.
Qualifications and Experience
· Previous experience cleaning residential, commercial, office properties is a must.
. Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
· Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage time and tasks
· Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning of all areas
· Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS will be an added advantage.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable.
Must have a valid Class G license (may be required).
