CNC Machinist

We are a High-precision Fabricator situated in Delta, BC, producing components predominantly for the Food, Pharma, Solar, and Technology sectors. An opportunity to join our growing company has become available, and we are currently seeking a CNC-Machinist to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist, a skilled professional responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components and parts. A machinist who can interpret blueprints, set up the machine, select the appropriate tools, and monitor the machining process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This role also involves conducting quality control inspections.
Responsibilities:
• Set-up and operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as milling, turning, and drilling to produce metal components based on engineering specifications and blueprints.
• Interpret and convert engineering drawings and specifications into CNC programs using CAM software.
• Setup the CNC machine by installing and adjusting cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures based on job requirements. Monitor tool wear and perform changeovers as necessary.
• Observe routine maintenance on the machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to achieve desired results.
• Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool breakage, machine malfunctions, or programming errors.
• Take corrective measures or seek assistance to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
Requirements:
• 5 years of programming experience with CNC machines.
• 5 years of 5-axis machining experience.
• Ability to read and program in G and M code.
• Experience developing and optimizing CNC programs.
• Familiarity with ultra-tight tolerances.
• Red Seal Certificate or equivalent certification
