• Main Duties of the Job:
o Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
o Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
o Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
o Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and complex roof truss systems per provided Engineered drawings
o Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
o Maintain, repair and renovate Commercial residential wooden structures.
o Prepare cost estimates
• Work environment Sound and noise. Both outdoor and indoor work. Use of hazardous equipment, machinery, tools. Prepare to work and travel in Northern Ontario.
• Required Qualifications: Completion of high school. Some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry.
• Other Work Requirements: Driver's License, Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency, strong English Proficiency.
• Required Experience: 2 years of carpentry experience.
