Main duties and responsibilities:
-Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
-Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
-Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
-Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
-Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
-Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, following installation, replacement or repair
-Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
-Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems
-Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
-Inspect completed electrical installations to ensure workmanship and quality meet company and industry standards.
-Perform quality checks and document findings during the electrical installation and maintenance process.
-Maintain accurate records of electrical work, installations, repairs, and inspections.
-Submit reports on electrical work progress and any delays or issues encountered during construction.
-Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment required for electrical installations.
-May instruct and work with apprentices

Education requirement:

Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program of three to four years.

Experience requirement:

At least three years of experience as a certified electrician. Experience as a service electrician on residential sites.

Other requirements:

A Class 5 driver's license is required due to the need for regular travel between job sites

Location of work:

1273 Clark Drive, Vancouver, BC V5L 3K6, with regular site visits required throughout the Greater Vancouver area.

Language of work:

English proficiency is required to read blueprints, safety instructions, and communicate effectively on job sites
