Responsibilities (Skilled Carpenter):
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials (wood, metal, etc.) according to plans and building codes.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, flooring, and cabinetry.
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities (Carpenter Apprentice):
- Assist skilled carpenters with daily tasks and learn on-the-job skills.
- Measure and cut materials under the supervision of a skilled carpenter.
- Carry and move materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks and gradually take on more complex tasks as skills develop.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Qualifications (Skilled Carpenter):
- Proven experience as a carpenter with a solid understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, pneumatic tools, etc.).
- Excellent understanding of carpentry materials, methods, and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing tasks.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications (Carpenter Apprentice):
- Willingness to learn and develop carpentry skills.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and materials is a plus, but not required.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
