This is a fully updated 27 foot Airstream Overlander. Originally it was a mid bed unit with the bathroom in the rear. Everything is new except the frame and the outer shell. The weight distribution is wonderful and it tows like a dream.

The outside was left untouched but it can easily be fully stripped and polished by the new owner

The shell was lifted off and stored while the frame was fully sandblasted and powder coated. Marine plywood was laid and sealed before the shell went back on.

New custom fresh, grey, and black water tanks were ordered and installed. There are two 20 gallon tanks for each and they are fitted between the frame rails. Each pair of tanks is plumbed together and work seamlessly as a single unit. Residential faucets and a porcelain toilet were installed in the wet bath. Hot water is provided with a Dometic on demand heater.

Once the tanks were installed underneath, the entire interior and underside were professionally spray foamed with 1.5” in the walls and 3” underneath

Fantastic fans with temperature and rain sensors were installed at each end for ventilation as well as a residential style ductless split for cooling. The AC easily keeps the camper cool during the hottest of days and is quiet enough for sleeping at night. The ducted furnace can be used for heating or the heat pump on the ductless split can keep the whole camper warm if you're on shore power.

300 watts of flexible solar panels mounted on the roof run through a Samlex charge controller before going to the 4 deep cycle batteries. All shore and battery power run through a Samlex 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter/charge controller. Electrical controls and protection run through a custom made breaker panel. All of the plugs, LED lights, appliances (except AC), and USB outlets will run off the batteries for off grid camping. The entire camper camper (with AC) can easily be run through a small 2000 watt generator for even more comfort while in the back country.

The 3 burner stove with oven and fridge are mounted in custom cabinetry with full depth, soft close drawers for lots of storage. Two propane tanks are mounted out front along with the compressor for the ductless split. The electric tongue jack and everything else for neatly under a custom stitched cover for a clean look.

The rear of the camper has a custom table and seating for use when entertaining but was also designed to serve as the main bed. The front dinette folds down for additional sleeping space when needed.

This was a fun build. It was enjoyed for many vacations and weekends away but the time has come for it to be loved by someone else.
