Yamaha RX-493 Receiver that is in excellent physical and working condition. It has a Phono input for MM Cartridges, it also has Tape Monitor input for using an equalizer in-line with all output selections. 70watts per channel with 8ohm load A and B speakers selected and 95 watts per channel with 4ohm load A Speakers only. It does have a subwoofer output, Everything works well as it is supposed to and the audio quality is really clear. This was designed as an early generation surround receiver, and you can use it as such. My suggestion is to use it as a 2 channel (stereo) receiver to get its full power benefits ..... An equalizer with lights would go well with this setup ..... I have had it running different pairs of speakers made by different companies and it performs exceptionally well.
Damping Factor of a receiver is a rating of the amplifiers ability to control the speaker cone at near or full power without clipping. Damping Factor of this RX-V493 receiver is an impressive 80 or greater. All things being created equally, a damping factor of 50 is about normal when it comes to reasonably priced amplifiers, 100 is the mark of a well designed unit, anything over 150 and some clear thought went into what the receiver was designed to do and how well it performs. It has been checked over and cleaned and works as it should. I do have a remote control for it, as of today I have not gotten around to making sure all the buttons work, worst case scenario is i take it apart and clean the contacts

* If I replace surrounds, I warranty them for 36months - where else can you get warranty on repairs?
* If the crossovers need new Capacitors, I replace them.

If it is not like I claim it to be when you come to see it then I will refund your deposit.
* (4). - Please remember that some brand new or seldom used older gear that has been sitting may work for years without troubles, or, it also may develop small troubles simply from lack of use. There is no warranty that comes with my gear no matter the condition unless I state it clearly in the ad. That being said if a piece of gear develops some troubles, give me a call and let me see if I can help you out. I like to think that I am a reasonable person within reason.
* (5).- There is no cure for misuse and abuse or just plainly being a 'Dumbass'. If you are unsure about how something wires up or works Ask Questions!! There is nothing more frustrating that talking with someone who was too proud to ask for assistance, but, instead wires up something wrong, burns or blows it up then attempts to blame their own mistakes on someone else.
