Last chance as it's up on Reverb and I expect will sell soon.
3/4 scale
Sweet! This grey pearl, 22" scale acoustic resonator guitar was made as a student model, with a thin cutaway body, heavy celluloid pickguard, and pearl inlay position markers.
Ad early National catalog says "The bridge is mounted at the apex of a very sensitive, light metal cone which acts as a resonator. Since the body is solid, virtually all the string vibrations are transmitted directly to the air, resulting in a strong, well sustained tone with considerable carrying power. Heavily chromed grilles protect front and back of the resonator." The back plate on this guitar is very unusual and let's sound out both front and back.
The model was made from the mid-late 1950s until 1958 but through the mid-1960s
These guitars do have a funky tone, they have a very old 78 record type of sound. The solid body is what does that
Ben Harper had recorded with one - 'Ground On Down',
Prices have been all over the map with the guitar selling for $1500 cdn 8 years ago to recent offerings in the 2500-3000 range. These guitars are hard to find and I had to order it from the US on Reverb and I just want to get back what I'm in to it for.
