Position Overview:
JS MacKinnon Construction is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable General Laborer to join our team. The General Laborer will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects by assisting with various tasks on the job site. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, safety-conscious, and eager to learn, with a passion for contributing to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and securing materials.
Perform basic tasks such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, and assisting with the installation of structural components.
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced crew members.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your team members.
Maintain cleanliness and organization on the job site, including cleaning up debris and keeping work areas clear of hazards.
Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, and electricians as directed, learning from their expertise and gaining valuable experience in the construction industry.

Requirements:

Previous experience in construction or related field preferred but not required.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and bending for extended periods.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (at this time we are not hiring temporary foreign workers)
