Mytek Brooklyn DAC

Description
$900

Although marketed primarily as a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the Brooklyn is also a preamplifier with volume control (digital or analog, you choose), a headphone amplifier (two jacks, one for you and one for a date), and—get this—a phono preamplifier.
This Brooklyn is small: in pro-audio terms, it's a half rack wide. It has all the usual inputs: two S/PDIF, one TosLink, one USB, one AES/EBU, two Analog (L&R)(can be programmed MM/MC phono input), two Femto Word Clock (input & output) to reduce jitter and timing issues with digital sources. It plays every digital format most audiophiles could wish for, including Certified Full-Unfolding of MQA hi-res, 32-bit/384kHz PCM, and up to and including quad-speed DSD.
In addition to the two headphone jacks on front panel, the Brooklyn features an informative display (though it's too small to be easily read at a distance) and a big volume knob. The same knob plus four small buttons grant access to the Brooklyn's many programmable features, including Balance, Phase, MQA, Volume (digital or analog), Digital Filters (fast rolloff, slow rolloff), and others. You can even make the logo light up with varying brightness and 14 different colours. Most of these features (perhaps all) can be controlled with a standard Apple remote, which is included at N/C. If you use a computer as a source, you can set everything via Mytek's app for Windows or Mac. You'll need the app for firmware updates, but otherwise the app is optional.
Beautiful sound, and beautiful look in burnished silver finish.
