Is your child struggling with math? Or is your child gifted and bored? Or just feeling a bit ho-hum about math? The summer time is the perfect time to explore and have fun with math! Yes, fun! Laying down a solid groundwork for future math success can involve storytelling, baking, playing with shapes, using treats (and sometimes eating them!) to illustrate concepts, playing a variety of games, and other fun things! All these enjoyable activities are linked with understanding and manipulating mathematical ideas, which once understood, will help the child learn the abstract "language of math" used in the classroom. Whether your child is feeling lost, bored, or uninterested, we can explore ways to bring math to life and turn it into an exciting puzzle to crack. :).
I can work with individual children or small groups, either in my home or at yours. These activities work best in-person, but if in-person is not possible, we can explore how we could work together online.
