DZ Dump Truck Driver/Operator

DZ Dump Truck Driver/Operator will drive/operate truck, equipped with dump body to transport & dump materials such as, but not limited to debris from home/building demolition, dirt/sand, gravel, crushed rock, or paving materials. DZ Dump Truck Driver/Operator responsibilities are implemented by a skilled individual who can perform the job with safety & precision. He/she will have the responsibility of cleaning, maintain & servicing the truck periodically to expand its life.

Operation & maintenance of all equipment requires experience & knowledge of the machines & its parts. Such a driver/operator must possess mechanical skills to perform his/her job in a strenuous & possible dangerous work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities – but not limited to
• Driver must be in compliance at all times during employment at Hillsco Contracting Group Inc., and have a clean driving record (Driver's abstract will be requested)
• Drives truck to/from destination
• Pulls leers or turns crank to tilt body & dump contents.
• Inspects truck equipment & supplies such as tires/lights/brakes/fuel/oil/ water & all fluids.
• Performs pre & post trip inspections.
• Responsible for the condition of their work vehicle; keeps truck clean & in working order.
• Inspects material to ensure it has been loaded correctly & is secure.
• Maintains driver log according to regulations.
• Responsible for setting their own brakes.

• Must be able to identify material to ensure correct product is being hauled/disposed of

• Observes safety & security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately.
• Uses equipment & materials properly & understands all safety regulations (a Hillsco Safety Handbook is provided)
