Knife is in very good condition with original box. It is thin behind the edge and performs very well, is easy to sharpen and holds an exceptional edge due to the very hard carbon steel. The blade is full carbon, an Aogami super core with a carbon steel cladding with a kurouchi finish. There is no rust and it is clean, that is just the patina. The patina keeps the blade from being too reactive and easy to rust. It is easily removed though if you want to develop your own patina. (it can forced or develop naturally with use)
