First Nations Engineering Services Ltd. is a privately Indigenous owned engineering company based on the Six Nations of the Grand River in Ohsweken. FNESL provides high value Professional Engineering Services to their clients throughout Ontario specializing in the development of water treatment and distribution systems and wastewater treatment and collection systems, with a strong emphasis on the environment.

Responsibilities:


• Establishing and maintaining project files, submittals, daily and weekly construction reports.
• Verification of materials used verification of the installation of materials and equipment.
• Verification that codes, regulations, site plans, specifications, change orders are being followed.
• Monitors and reports on the contractor's progress and problems as related to the job site.
• Monitors work performed on siter by conducting inspections at critical phases of construction.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
• Attends site meetings, and project meetings with the contractors and client on a regular basis.
• Ability to issue written instructions to contractors when work does not comply with the approved drawings and specifications.
• This position involves remote placements in northern Ontario.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with pdf software such as Adobe or PDF Annotator to markup contract drawings
• Strong technical skills and an understanding of municipal engineering.
• Strong computer skills including Word Processing, and Spreadsheet
• Self-starter who is able to work unsupervised.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• A proven team-player who demonstrates a flexible attitude.
• Certified Engineering Technologist designation or diploma in construction related field would be an asset
• Valid driver's license
