Looking for a female Health Care Aide/ Caregiver to care for a female adult with multiple disabilities. Responsibilities of the position includes: Assist with personal hygiene and bathing, dressing, assist with bowel and bladder care while ensuring the privacy and dignity of client is protected at all times. Applicant will also be involved with housework, have knowledge of transferring and use of mechanical lifts in a safe manner. Assist client to participate in social and recreational activities, assist in traveling with DATS. Knowledge of sleep apnea along with the use of sleep apnea equipment. Assist client to meet basic needs in a gentle, courteous and respectful manner. Assist with catheter care, dressing, wound care, medication, ointments, vital signs, oximeter readings and documentation. Assist in preparation of meals. Assist with feeding if needed. The ideal candidate will possess: Ability to maintain effective interpersonal and team relationship Must be able read, write, verbally communicate effectively in English Demonstrate empathy and understanding the need of the client Ability to plan organize and coordinate the delivery of care Ability to multitask Candidate must be available to work evenings, nights and alternating weekends Qualifications for this position: Current criminal background and vulnerability check Current intervention records check Current first aid with CPR and AED certificate Current WHMIS certificate Current Medication Administration Course certificate Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent experience Current Abuse Protocol certificate Current Non-Violent crises intervention certificate The selected candidates will be trained and be given time to finish required courses.
