We are currently seeking experienced Red Seal Certified Cooks at CFB Esquimalt.
Wage: $29.98-$32.55 per hour PLUS a shift premium of $2.25 per hour before 8am and after 4pm
Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Hours of work between 5am -7pm:
• Early shift: 0500-1330
• Late shift: 1030-1900

Cook (FOS-05):
• Prepares and cooks, presents, and delivers food products and services to diners/clients of the Department of National Defence through in-house food services, dispersed meals, sandwich/salad bars or take out services.
• Roasts, bakes, grills, fries and boils meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables. Prepares salads, pasta, casseroles, rice, vegetables, and dressings. Bakes breads and desserts and prepares fruit desserts.
• Assists in receiving, labeling, storing, and distributing food service supplies (food and non-food items) to the appropriate area of the kitchen and/or dining facility, including weighing, portioning, packaging, and labeling of products and ingredients.
• Informs management regarding production, menus, leftovers, food consumption and shortages, recipe adjustments and equipment malfunctions in order to increase or decrease production.
• Coordinates meal preparation. Collects and organizes verbal and written information and prepares production control charts, special menus, and a variety of charts and/or forms.
• Cleans and maintains cooking equipment, tools, utensils, and work areas.
• Participates in maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment by monitoring the workplace activities and ensuring prompt delivery of required first aid.
