Employment Opportunity: Temporary Part-time RN (Maternity Leave)
Start Date: Aug 6th, 2024- September 10th, 2025
Hours: Tuesday-Friday, Days only. (Approximately 30-34 hrs/week) Holidays off.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled patient centered Registered Nurse (RN). Previous experience in Dental/ Oral Surgery is valued but not required. The successful applicant will work both independently and as a team member with a Surgeon, RN, Dental Assistant, and Medical Secretaries. This position requires care of the patient Pre-Operative, Intra-Operative, and Post-Operative for patients undergoing oral surgery. (Wisdom Teeth, Implants, Biopsy's, Bone Grafting, Etc.)

Responsibilities:
1. IV Insertion and management
2. Airway management and Cardiac monitoring
3. Facilitate pre-operative/ intra-operative medication administration
4. Close surveillance and assessment of patients pre, intra and post-operative phases of surgical procedures
5. Provide patient education pre-operatively and post-operatively
6. Prioritizing and delivering intervention care as required
7. Participate actively with fellow team members assisting in day-to-day activities, prepping of surgical suites and office duties
8. Follow up post-operative phone calls
9. Ensure compliance with infection control and protocols
10. Participate actively in a fast paced environment to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

Qualifications:
1. Valid RN license with the Association of Registered Nurses PEI
2. Current BCLS
3. Minimum 1 year experience in ER/ICU/Procedural Clinics
4. Proficiency in sedation monitoring and medication is an asset
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and triage tasks efficiently
6. Active team participation, committed to learning and exceptional patient care
7. Proficient intravenous catheter insertion and previous phlebotomy experience considered an asset
