We have grown this business from 2 kayaks to a complete fleet of watercraft! The initial start up and beginning work has already been done. All you have to do is sit back and wait for people to book. The online booking system is top notch – It collects the money, sends the waivers and sends reminder follow ups the night before.
Customers have 2 options – The South Saskatchewan River and Seven Person Creek. The way we have it set up right now online for booking is one day it's the creek and the next day it's the river. It cut down on driving and scheduling conflicts trying to be in 2 different spots at the same time. We can help you set that up however would work best for you. It's easy.
We have worked very closely with Tourism Medicine Hat and Tourism Alberta. They have done videos, writeups, published online, mentioned in their yearly tourism books. The Medicine Hat community enjoys this small business and supports it very well for being open only 4 months a year.

This has been a great business for us. No issues. But it will take some of your time up if you want to run it as a full-time adventure, but you get to set your hours!
Last year we had 1 day of rain, so we were open every day. You can set up the schedule online months in advance- blocking off days you want off. No mechanical issues to deal with – Don't have to worry about something breaking down or customers hard on the equipment. Its an easy busy to run.

2024 and Future Potential
- Only OutdoorXcape Rentals – No competition – going to make it even busier.
- Seven Person Creek now can be paddled from Heron Court all the way to the South Saskatchewan River (The city of MH has removed a pipe that was unpassable in previous years) So much more potential for longer paddles at bigger revenue and more options for customers
- Options of expanding into camping gear, snowshoeing, other outdoor activities.
- Original pricing still from 2021- opportunity to raise the rates a little more

Insurance = $2500-$3000 per year - truck, trailer and liability
Fuel = $300/month
Upkeep = The equipment has a 5-10 year life span
Labor = We didn't take a paycheck – Whatever you want to pay yourself
Advertising = $0.00 we haven't spent a thing – it's been word of mouth, quality of the adventure and a fair price. NO radio, NO TV, NO print. You could partner with a radio station (they reach out every year and really boom this business if you wanted)

It's a money-making business that can be a full time summer job or set your own days and hours job. Maybe you purchase this as a opportunity for your whole family to get involved with. Great starting job for your kids. The cost for running it is very minimal.

Purchase
I have attached our excel spreadsheet with all our numbers from 2021- current. We are asking for $30,000.00 for all the inventory, online booking system, social media pages, logo, email address, the bookings that are confirmed for 2024 already and all the accessories. There is also the option to buy the 2016 Ford F-150 XLT (225,000kms) - mint shape, completely and always taken care of. It even smells new still! $27,500.00 for the truck. It is already all decaled up, ready to go.

We will work with the new owners getting everything transferred, training on the system, answering all questions, helping them out for the first couple of weeks free of charge. We want this business to be successful still. It's a great asset to Medicine Hat (Tourism Medicine Hat loves the company and they promote it lots!)
