Autobody Technician

Signal Collision is accepting applications for an Automotive Body Repair Technician. We are looking for a motivated individual who is process driven and has an eye for detail. We are a family owned and operated facility handling a large volume of claims. We believe in quality workmanship and have developed a loyal customer base due to our commitment to professionalism and customer service. We invest in tools, equipment and training to ensure that our technicians have what they need to stay busy and productive. Our technicians are responsible for restoring their assigned vehicles to pre accident condition in accordance with industry standards

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

- Repair damaged vehicles using technical information sheets in accordance with repair orders
- Participate and contribute in repair planning including decisions concerning safety, costs and cycle time.
- Perform structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical work such as replacing bent suspension components
- Perform different types of sheet metal welding and metal finishing.
- File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces
- Work and communicate with Production Manager and Estimators on the vehicle repair status
- Meet or exceed requirements for tech efficiency, cycle time (to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery) and return rate.
- Utilize all required safety equipment, follow proper repair procedures and adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
- Keep personal work area organized and clean, return tools and maintain parts/materials carts in an organized manner.
- Follow quality control processes and inspections
- Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury
- Attend daily release meetings.

EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Journeyman/Red Seal certification
- I-CAR platinum certification an asset
- 2-5 years of auto body collision repair experience
- Experience using frame and measuring equipment.
- History of working independently and in a team environment.
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Motivated to continually improve within the industry
