Job Position: The Meat Cutter – Butcher
Location: Ottawa, ON
Pay Rate: 25$/HR
Shift Timing: TUES-FRI: 6am-3pm SAT: 6am-2pm (total 44hrs/weekly)
Main responsibilities:

- Cut, debone, or grind pieces of meat according to production and safe work requirements including
preparation of special orders to meet customers' specifications.
- Weigh and wrap meat to fulfill customers' orders.
- Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards.
- Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature and according to HACCP requirements and production procedures.
- Walk to other areas in the plant as needed.
- Work with other departments as needed.
- Report hazards and unsafe working conditions.
All other duties as assigned.
Skills and requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma
- 2 years plus experience working as a butcher or related experience.
- Ability to lift as required and as per lifting requirements above.
- Ability to withstand cold temperatures and work in a cold working environment.
- Ability to follow health and safety and food safety guidelines.
- Ability to follow precise instructions in a careful, methodical and accurate way.
- Ability to follow process and procedures.
- Ability to work in and support a team environment.
- Efficient follow-up in a timely manner and can effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently.
