Sharpie is an unknown but estimated 2 year old Albino BCI boa we have not been able to directly handle to even guess at a gender due to Sharpie being in the care of an emergency foster. Sharpie has a lot of growing left to do, and preparations for an 8 foot animal as an adult must be done. Sharpie came with Apollo, another boa we took in. After a call from authorities looking for help came in to save the lives of 8 boas, we were lucky enough to find placement for 7 of them on the fly, effectively saving them from destruction. Sharpie was in a hoarding situation, where they were kept in a tiny, dirty tub, cohoused with another animal, lacking clean water or heat. Sharpie from what we can tell was very minimally - if at all - handled prior to coming to us. They are very alert, and so far has not been reported to hiss or attempted to strike, but is twitchy and can be defensive. Sharpie is not aggressive but is still learning that people are not dangerous and thus is insecure and timid. With Sharpies age this is something that will continue to improve with proper trust building and handling while they are still small. However confidence in handling and removing from the enclosure is going to be key. We would recommend an intermediate or advanced owner for Sharpie. Do note though as per all our animals this is NOT one you are permitted to breed. If you are seeking a breeder please look elsewhere. Breeding rescues is unethical, they deserve amazing pet only homes!

Sharpie is currently eating a small F/T small rat bi weekly. This will need to increase in size as they grow, as well as the enclosure will need to increase in size! As a full grown adult generally we recommend a large F/T rat once per month for adult boas in proper shape. Sharpie will do best in a 3 foot enclosure to start but will need an upgrade to an 8 foot one as an adult. They will require a large soaking bowl, multiple hides as well as the proper heat and humidity he requires. They will need appropriate belly heat regulated with a thermometer and regulator. If EXTENSIVE research is done and shown in the application, we may allow alternative heat sources however if you REFUSE to use a regulator we REFUSE to adopt to you. Sharpie's adoption fee is $150.00.

In order to take Sharpie home, proof of proper enclosure is required. Please respond to this ad and we will return with the proper adoption forms and information. If you are unwilling to fill out the forms please do not bother to reply.

Sharpie is currently being fostered in Edmonton, and to ensure the new owner is confident in handling Sharpie, the approved applicant will be required to go to the home of Sharpie's foster and remove them without assistance from the enclosure. Applicants that are not confident/capable of removing Sharpie from the enclosure will be declined. Delivery is not an option for Sharpie. All documentation must be filled out prior to anything to protect both parties and our animals.
