Hello! My name is Laura and I am an online reading tutor located in Ottawa, Ontario. I am a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers and am a graduate of the Master of Arts in Child Study and Education program, OISE, University of Toronto.

I use Zoom to design an individualized reading program for each of my students that includes word work activities, fluency instruction and guided reading. I have a special interest in helping children learn to read and a strong understanding of how to address difficulties with phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. My main focus is on getting students reading at grade level as quickly as possible using a variety of fun and engaging activities and books.
