We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at the Victoria Medical Building as Maintenance Support. This position will work closely with the maintenance staff and janitorial contractor under the supervision of the Building Manager to ensure the facility's cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning.

Position Details:

Position: Full-Time (or possibly Part-Time) dependent on the successful applicant's needs and abilities.
Pay: $25-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience and ability.

Qualifications:

Training and Experience: High school education with well-rounded experience as a maintenance support in a similar role or an equivalent related field is an asset. Hands-on experience in repair and maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems is desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Effective communication, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with others.
Physical ability to carry out strenuous activities as necessary.
Organizational skills to coordinate maintenance and repairs.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Entry-level computer skills and ability to write maintenance schedules are advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities:

General:
Ensure the Victoria Medical Building maintains a clean, safe, and professional environment. This includes performing maintenance and repairs as well as occasional janitorial duties to uphold a high standard.
Customer and Public Relations:
Represent the company in a professional and personable manner, resolving complaints, and clarifying company positions as necessary.
Duties:
Oversee daily maintenance activities under the direction of the Building Manager.
Perform janitorial duties during the day as needed, supplementing nightly janitorial services.
Assign tasks to staff, coordinate contractors, set work schedules, and coordinate repairs with tenants.
Perform or trouble shoot basic maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and emergency procedures; and coordinate trades (call them in) as necessary.
Take the lead during emergency procedures such as fire alarms or evacuation procedures, including on-call availability for fire alarms after hours.
Respond to building and tenant needs during non-work hours and implement and adhere to the building safety plan.
