We at Sarao Law Office are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our law office as a Legal Secretary/Assistant. In this role, you will provide vital administrative support to our legal team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and the efficient handling of legal matters. Your responsibilities will include managing correspondence, preparing legal documents, scheduling appointments, and assisting with research tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards their work. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and gain valuable insight into the legal profession.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and organize legal documents, including drafting and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and briefs.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and redirect inquiries to the appropriate person.
- Maintain and update filing systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring easy retrieval of documents.
- Assist attorneys with legal research tasks, including case law and statutory research.
- Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a legal setting.
- Proven experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications (e.g., Closer, Unity, ULaw).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
