The Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre in West Kelowna is looking to hire a Day Camp Supervisor for our Eagle Adventure Summer Day Camp for 6-10yr old children. Theme weeks, daily swimming in the pool, crafts, sports, games, science experiments, S.T.E.M. activities, drama, beach days and walking field trips are all on the list! The team is comprised of 1 Supervisor and 2 Day Camp Leaders who will deliver the program curriculum to 26 –28 children each day.

Qualifications/Background:
3rd or 4th year University student pursuing a Degree in Education, Human Kinetics/Child Care Studies etc., Or you have completed a related Diploma/Degree,
Or you have supervised a summer day camp previously
Or you have extensive “child leadership experience” & you are willing to learn about day camps.

You Must:
Be between 20 –30 years old (Canada Summer Job Position)
Love interacting with children in a stimulating outdoor environment
Hold a Current First Aid Ticket or be willing to obtain this certification before camp. (min. Emergency First Aid)
Be a strong team player with excellent communication & leadership skills
Be a confident swimmer
Be proficient in: multi-tasking, delegating, organization, lesson planning, administration and possess high energy.
Be able to directly lead a group of children while supervising & mentoring Day Camp Leaders.

Dates of Employment: June 17 – Aug 30
(Includes 80hrs/prep time/staff training in June)
Camp Dates: July 2– Aug 30
Camp Runs: 8:00am-5:30pm
Camp Shift: 40 hrs per week (Mon-Fri) Hourly Rate: $23 -$24/hr (based on background)
(Shifts are scheduled Mon-Fri between 7:30am -6:00pm)
