The Kamloops Child Development Centre is looking for a qualified ECE and/or ECE/IT to join our team! We are an innovative, non-profit that strives to provide the very best childcare experience. We are a nature-based centre that supports a learn-through-play philosophy with a large emphasis on outdoor and natural play.
We are a large, well-established childcare centre and believe in supporting all the staff on our team. You will work within a team atmosphere in a warm and supportive environment. We encourage all our ECEs to lead their own classroom programming and are available to support your efforts through modeling and the sharing of ideas.
No matter the weather, the majority of the day is spent outside. Our children love it outside, and we design our activities to encourage gross and fine motor skills and creative and imaginative play, all while exploring nature. Whether you go for a walk across the street in Macdonald Park (or beyond) or spend the afternoon in our Forest Playground, adventures await. We live by our motto: exceptional childcare – nurtured by nature.
To succeed in this position, you need:
• an ECE and first aid certificate
• a love of the outdoors
• a genuine interest in working with children
• the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
• a positive, friendly attitude
• initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
We offer a competitive salary range from $22.50 - $25.75 per hour (plus the $6.00 ECE Wage enhancement), a very healthy benefits package (including extended health and dental), Group RRSPs, and a full-time work schedule of 36 hours over a four-day week.
