Carved with a ru-yi at the top, this is a natural oval-shaped coral jade pendant with cherry blossom pattern. The pendant is slightly translucent when beamed with light, which means the coral is partially chalcedonized.
Coral jade is also known as fossil coral, it is formed by ancient corals. The proper name is "Agatized fossil coral". During formation, the coral remains were being fossilized gradually and replaced with Agate.
The more you wear it, the pattern will become more vivid and clear. Soak the piece in water once every 2 to 3 months for a day or so to keep the interior moist, and store it in a sealed bag if you are not wearing it. DO NOT rub it with moisturizer or oil.
