Mortgage Underwriter & Assistant to Broker
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and efficient Mortgage Underwriter & Assistant to Broker to join our team. Responsibilities:
• Manage Applications and Leads: Monitor and manage active mortgage applications and incoming leads to ensure timely processing.
• Process Pre-approvals: Process mortgage pre-approvals daily with high accuracy, assess required documentation, and liaise with clients, brokers, and referral partners to gather all necessary information for submissions.
• Meet Financing Conditions: Ensure all financing conditions are met promptly; communicate outstanding requirements with clients and follow-up as necessary.
• Verify Client Information: Thoroughly cross-verify and validate client documents and data to maintain accuracy and integrity in processing.
• Update and Maintain Records: Regularly update and maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions, data, and client files in the various backend systems.
• Client Engagement and Renewals: Proactively manage client relationships by sending renewal notifications via email, meticulously maintaining records within the CRM system, and conducting follow-up calls for non-respondent renewals. Additionally, oversee the thoughtful distribution of touchpoints and gifts to clients to foster positive ongoing relationships.
• Compliance and Confidentiality: Adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements and maintain strict confidentiality with client information.
• Continuous Improvement: Continually seek ways to improve processes and enhance service efficiency.
• Adaptability to Evolving Duties: Remain flexible and responsive to emerging tasks and responsibilities as things evolve, demonstrating a readiness to tackle new challenges and contribute to various projects that may fall outside of typical day-to-day duties.
Qualifications:
• Previous Financial Services experience, with focus on mortgages and lending is preferred.
• Legal Assistant experience, with focus on real estate will be strongly considered.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency in using online portals, document processing programs (Adobe, Word, etc.), collaboration tools (Outlook, Teams, etc.), and the ability to learn new systems quickly is a requirement.
• Managing multiple priorities and tasks, while ensuring client and broker expectations and dates are met.
• Attention to detail and adherence to ensure accuracy of information is captured from clients and backend systems.
Compensation:
• Competitive salary based on previous experience and qualifications. Performance based annual bonus is available.
• Hybrid working environment (In Person and Work from Home).
