For sale is this beautiful 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera, in a eye catching sky blue paint. The body work is in immaculate condition with very few flaws. Drives like an absolute dream, and for that ease of mind, the car has been maintained for the last 20 years by a certified Porsche technician who I purchased the car from a couple years ago. Extensive records of all the maintenance and work has been saved and is available. I've personally put about 2500kms on it within the same summer that I bought it and didn't have any issues at all. Truly a fantastic vehicle for any Porsche fan that wants to get into air cooled 911s and although I don't see these cars as investments but more as something get joy out of, the market has shown that they are a fantastic investment especially because the number of these cars are shrinking year by year.

Now you may ask why am I selling it if it's such a positive experience to own this car? Well, like most 911 enthusiasts, my preference was a widebody 911, but as you may know, those are in the $85k range depending on condition, and I had the plan of buying this car and doing a conversion to widebody and upgrading the drivetrain and whole lot more. I came to realize that taking that approach would ruin a beautiful 911 that is in almost perfect condition, and the costs would far exceed market value 911 turbo and the time it would take is not something that I can afford to dedicate to at this moment in time, so I thought it would be better to list this for sale and see what kind of interest there is for as some prefer the narrow body 911 and I would just take whatever I make from this and buy a 911 turbo or buy an actual project car.

And finally to summarize,
The Good:
Extensive records of all the maintenance and work that has been over the years has been done by a very neat and organized gentleman who was a career certified Porsche technician. Body is in almost perfect condition with a very minor scuff/scratch on the quarter panel that measures an inch long by quarter inch wide. Engine and transmission are in fantastic condition and handles day to day driving as well as long distance driving with zero issues. I did about 600kms of highway driving the day I bought and it was very smooth the whole way. I have an extra set of Fuchs wheels in addition to the Carrera wheels that are on the car.

The Bad:
The windshield is cracked at the bottom area so that is an area that needs looking after, I am looking to get that sorted out but free time has been an issue for me lately. The tires are pretty much approaching the end of its lifecycle, but once again, its a small fix since the tire size is very readily available even on a budget.

The Ugly: The car is an Alberta registered car, and would need an out of province inspection if it will be registered outside of Alberta. The car was previously a Targa top, but the ex owner decided to convert it to a convertible. He used certified Porsche parts and guides to do the conversion and the job is done pretty well, except that sometimes the convertible top doesn't latch perfectly when closing it, so you end up having to open it back and close it again for it to latch. Not a huge issue in my experience of dealing with it, but I thought I should point that out.
