Red Seal Technician Annual Wage Range: $62,400 – $90,000

Apprentice Technician Annual Wage Range: $37,440 - $56,160

Embark on a rewarding journey towards becoming a Red Seal Technician with the support of Steele Auto Groups Road to Red Seal Program! We are committed to supporting our apprentices in the Automotive and Collision Trades as they navigate their apprenticeship blocks. We offer Level Bonuses and a Salary Top-Up Plan for all Apprentices!

Level Bonuses:

  • Level 1 to 4: Bonuses paid upon successful completion of each level
  • Red Seal: Red Seal Certification Bonus

Salary Top-Up Plan:

  • Receive support to ease your financial burdens during each apprenticeship block
  • Salary Top-Up Plan, provides a percentage of previous hourly rate while off work attending your block

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensed or certified Technician
• Experience as an Autobody Technician
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide an acceptable driver abstract

Responsibilities:

  • • Review damage report and plan work to be performed
    • Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody
    components
    • Repair autobody to factory or customer specifications
    • Fill cracks and depressions
    • Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
    • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
    • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld
    replacement parts into place
    • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
    • File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
    • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
    • Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
    • Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets, and floorboard
    insulation
    • Performing diagnostic assessments to ensure that all issues have been detected, and that the
    customer is willing to have these remedied.
    • Wearing safety gear and conducting work in a safe manner.
    • Restoring vehicles to their original condition, or better, by repairing, replacing, and upgrading
    features of their exterior.
    • Ensuring that each vehicle is roadworthy upon completion of the job.
    • Checking to see that issues have been resolved to customers' satisfaction.

Facial hair will interfere with the ability to achieve a proper seal on CSA-approved respirators; therefore, it is a requirement that staff must be clean-shaven. If you are unable to maintain a clean shave where the respirator seals to the face for any reason, please inform us in the form of a request for accommodation.
