We at Terra Bay Food Services located within St. John's High School at 401 Church Ave are looking to add a well experienced cook to our small team! This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a set Monday - Friday daytime schedule with no weekends or late evenings. Reliability, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are traits that we look for in any candidate.

We are looking for someone who can at least work with us until the end of the school year (last day of school is June 28th) as well as for 5 weeks in the summer starting July 15th. That being said, we will be hiring 1-2 cooks for the next school year in September which this person would be offered first.

What we offer:

•Note that the in-service days as well as winter (2 weeks) and spring break (1 week) are unpaid

Job details duties:
•$28/hr
•Set schedule (finish no later than 6pm)
•Plan dinner for our after school homework club (20-40 people)
•Assisting with all prep including processing fresh chicken breast (marinating/cooking/slicing/etc), making sauces, washing/cutting vegetables, etc
•Assisting with lunch special prep when needed
•Helping to run the pizza sub station during lunch service
•Covering other stations in the event we are short staffed, including cashier or serving at the counter
•Helping to oversee kitchen safety and sanitation
•All positions are expected to help with dishes and general cleaning (all dishes are hand washed)
•Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:
•Well experienced in commercial kitchens
•Takes pride in producing fresh, homemade meals
•Able to produce meals with minimal supervision/help
•Must be punctual
•Takes initiative with the ability to multitask
•Work clean and organized
•Willingness to do any task required in the kitchen including all prep work, cleaning and dishes
•Able to stand for 8 hours per day and lift 50lbs
•Must be comfortable in a small kitchen
•Experience with Rational ovens is not required but would be considered an asset

About Terra Bay:
TBFS is a non-profit organization running the cafeteria and community outreach programs at St. John's High School. We provide fresh, daily made meals at subsidized rates to all students along with free breakfast and food hampers through the community outreach program. There's also an afterschool homework club and all students who attend are able to get a free supper. The ideal candidates would take pride in what we do and be happy to serve the students of the high school.

Our cafeteria provides a free daily breakfast to all students who arrive between 8am - 9am. What we serve changes day by day but it could be as simple as cereal, as popular as pancakes & sausages or as unique as congee. Our lunch menu includes 1 daily special that is always a complete hot meal in addition to pizza subs, grilled cheese, deli sandwiches, wraps, parfaits and various baking items. Bananas, apples & oranges are always available free of charge to anyone who asks. We make the majority of what we offer in house using fresh ingredients including all of our baked goods.
