PRIME STAFFING is hiring for a leading freight provider of regional and interregional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services. They offer a wide range of services, including expedited, time-definite, and door-to-door delivery.

A forklift operator at the LTL Freight provider is responsible for safely loading and unloading freight from trucks and containers. Dock workers must also be able to accurately document and track freight, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

LTL Freight Dock Worker / Forklift Operator Job Duties include:

Unload and load freight from trailers safely using a forklift (counterbalance), pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
Sort freight for delivery and pick up according to established procedures
Count and record the number of units of freight being loaded and unloaded
Maintain accurate records of all shipments received and delivered
Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and on time
Check loads against the shipper's bill of laden for accuracy
Receive necessary paperwork from incoming trucks
Process invoices from various vendors in the company; enter invoices into computer system for payment purposes
Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies to supervisor
Assist with other duties as assigned, such as cleaning and maintaining dock area
Follow safety guidelines and regulations at ALL TIMES
Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
Adhere to company policies and procedures
On occasion, take lead on checking in and ensuring other dock workers are working as directed
This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, as well as assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with organizing inventory and maintaining order in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will be able to work safely on their feet for long periods of time, have strong communication skills, be able to follow instructions and be a team player. This position will also be responsible for taking a leadership position within the team as needed (expect minimum one day per week and coverage as needed). It's a great opportunity for a lead hand or experienced LTL dock worker.

Applicant Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred; College Degree preferred
Current, valid forklift license
Previous warehouse experience - LTL EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
Comfort using computers and basic programs (TruckMate experience preferred)
Lead hand or supervisor experience is preferred, but not required for the right personality
A vehicle to reliably commute to work every day. You will not be able to take transit to this job.
Scheduling flexibility is a plus. Current shift is 6:00am to 2:00pm and may be adjusted for the right candidate.
