I strongly believe we really need to talk about YOU, not me, because it is you, your passion for the game, your desire to work and learn, and your determination to reach your goals that will shape our path! Let's keep that for our first meeting, and here please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Joy, a dentist, chess author, international chess player and instructor, certified by World Chess Federation "FIDE", and the owner/director of The King's Gambit Chess Academy Inc., located in Montreal, where students of all ages and skills from all 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada, China / Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Australia, and Iceland study, practice, and enjoy chess! I have vast experience of 39 years playing chess since childhood, and 28 years teaching it. Having passed this long road helps me deal with players of all ages, levels, and potential.

Methodology:
Chess is the most beautiful game in the world, a magical combination of the logic of science, the beauty of art and the charm of history! We will explore this magical world from all angles, by studying the science of chess (openings - middle games - final games - tactics - strategy - positional pressure...etc.) in a very academic way, enjoying the art and absolute beauty where the entertainment and the fun are, and telling historical facts and amazing stories about great champions - some of those stories were told to me by the living legends themselves - while analyzing the games related to those tales, to draw inspiration from the legends of the ancient royal game, from Philidor to Carlsen! All of this will be in interactive lessons designed to suit each trainee's style, strengths, abilities and even personality. The tools will be the most modern, high-end, and advanced chess software, databases, and platforms in the world.

CV:
1- Owner/Director of The King's Gambit Chess Academy Inc. since February 2021. Academy students managed to win several tournaments in Canada and the United States.

2- The personal trainer of the 2023 Canadian Junior Chess Champion

3- Online chess instructor and consultant since June 2020, at two of Canada's most reputable learning institutes.

4- Online personal trainer for players from all around Canada, China / Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Australia, and Iceland since my arrival to Canada in mid-2019.

5- Author of several chess articles, some of which were recently published in the official magazine of the Quebec Chess Federation.

6- An international chess trainer certified by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) since April 2016.

7- Shared 3rd place in the World Amateur Chess Championship - Romania 2013 (I was advised to participate in the tournament by Super GM Peter Leko, based on his belief that I was a serious contender for the title).

8- Sole 2nd place in the Blitz section of the World Amateur Chess Championship - Romania 2013.

9- Shared 2nd place in UAE Grand Prix 2011 behind IM Fouad Al Taher but ahead of GM Sergey Kayumov among others. I was among only 12 finalists who qualified out of hundreds of participants after 9 months of preliminary stages.

10- 4th place in Ramadan Blitz Tournament 2010 Ahead of 4 GMs, 5 IMs, 2 FMs, 1 WFM and many international rated players.

11- Trainer of U14-U12-U10-U8 players in Abu Dhabi Chess Club 2010-2011. My players made considerable progress within the first 4 months.

12- The reigning Correspondence Chess champion of my country of origin.

13- U 20 Champion of my country-of-origin 1994.

14- U 14 Champion of my country-of-origin 1989.

15- In 2012 I participated in the preparation of the interface of the "Houdini for android" project. Unfortunately, the project was subsequently stopped by the programmer due to copyright protection concerns.
