Are you ready to embark on a rewarding living arrangement starting August 1, 2024?

We're seeking an experienced, compassionate and supportive couple or individual(s) to share a home with our wonderful 38-year-old male son as he transitions into independent living.

Position Information:
Tax-free monthly pay of $3200-$3500 (CRA Ruling Approved)
40 hours (OFF) (M-F, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm), can be adjusted to accommodate travel time for employment
4 days per month (OFF) respite care
The successful candidate will be directly employed by the family via Family Managed Supports (PDD).
Start date: August 1, 2024

Responsibilities:
Provide early morning, evening and weekend support that include meal planning and preparation, personal care, evening activities
Provide nightime routines and sleep support
Provide a safe, supportive and fun home environment
Encourage positive development and personal growth in accordance with his goals

About Him:
38 years old, fun-loving and very social - great sense of humor
Requires support for daily self-care activities such as bathing, toileting, and meal planning/preparation, laundry, housekeeping
Engages in a fulfilling supported day program including employment, volunteering, and recreation (40 hours/week)
Enjoys evening swims at the Lacombe pool, bowling, biking, basketball at the Abbey Centre, playing catch
Transitioning from his family home to his own space, seeking a supportive companion(s) to share the journey

Requirements:
Prior experience and training in caregiving or a willingness to learn
Must be comfortable with a nanny camera in the main area of the home
Possess a class 5 driver's license and own vehicle
Day job/school that fits between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Monday-Friday)
Must be available weekends ( 4 days provided for respite)
Police check with a vulnerable record check (past 6 months)
Non-smoking
Preference for a pet-free environment
Willing to assist with daily activities and encourage independence
Maintain a clean and safe living space
Enjoys swimming, biking, basketball and physically able to do these activities
Enjoys companionship and sharing activities with a like-minded individual

Located in quiet Panorama Estates, Blackfalds, Alberta
Comfortable and welcoming 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom house
Caregiver has own bedroom and ensuite bathroom for privacy
Open concept layout with a double attached garage
Beautiful balcony for enjoying the outdoors
Shared rent, utilities and internet access
The successful candidate can move into the home after June 15, 2024 our son will be moving in August 1.
