Briggs Maples ltd. is a small family run business located currently in Hillsborough NB. The Briggs family has been producing quality maple syrup and maple syrup products since the mid 1800's in the Moncton area. The Briggs family has grown from a small seasonal maple syrup operation to a full time, year-round business, operating out of the Chocolate River Station in Riverview since 2009. In 2021 we relocated to a more permanent location at 2979 Main St. Hillsborough.
Our small family run business employs six to eight employees, supplying a huge array of value-added products to grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants, and various other markets all over New Brunswick on a year-round basis. We are also a representative for Lapierre Maple Equipment, selling everything from maple syrup bottles, packaging, buckets, tubing, evaporators, vacuum pumps, and supplies. We are dealers for Richard's Packaging ltd., providing the food industry with many options for bottles, jars, specialty glass and plastic containers, for maple syrup, honey, pickles, jams, preserves, sauces, and beverages.
We are looking to hire one or two, mature individuals who can work independently, be able to manage their time effectively, be a self starter, have a great work ethic, along with being accountable on a day-to-day basis.
Duties will include:
- Helping with bottling maple syrup, cooking, stirring, and packaging maple butter and soft maple cream, cooking and packing maple candy and suckers.
- Making maple cones and leaves.
- Cleaning and maintaining an organized kitchen and work area on daily basis.
- Able to answer calls dealing with customer questions and taking orders.
- Preparing and picking orders.
- Doing up invoices and dealing with customers both at wholesale and retail level.
- Stocking the retail shelves.
- Operating cash and debit machine.
- General cleaning and upkeep to the store, kitchen, and bathrooms.
- Maintaining inventory and cleaning the warehouse.
- Greeting and helping customers with store products, equipment, bottles, and maple syrup supplies, getting their order ready and answering their questions.
You must be:
- Flexible and able to work various shifts including weekends.
- Able to work on your own and with others daily.
- Friendly and outgoing.
- A self starter and able to take direction easily.
- Willing to learn.
- Able to lift small boxes and light loads.
- Reliable and on time.
- Focused on the job at hand and not preoccupied or easily distracted.
Knowledge of is an asset but not mandatory:
- Cash register, debit machine, or point of sale.
- Maple syrup and maple products in general.
- General merchandising and stocking the shelf.
- Maple equipment, bottles, and supplies.
- Making candy and confections.
- Inventory taking and picking orders.
- Sales and customer service.
Hours and wages will be determined based on your experience and needs at the time of being hired.
