My husband and I finally made the move! We got married, packed up our lives in the city and started our married life on an acreage about 30 minutes outside the perimeter.

Along with our other animals, we raised our own flock of 25 laying hens. We raised almost all of these girls ourselves from 1-day old chicks. And oh, are they pampered. If chopped lettuce, fresh corn, salmon and blueberries sound good to you - it also sounds good to them, and are some of their favourite snacks!

These are our pets, but they also happen to lay beautiful eggs that come with all the benefits of living their best life!

What does this mean?
- our chickens are free to roam and follow their natural “roosting” instinct by putting themselves to bed at night in their coop where it's cozy and secure.
- They're well-socialized and happily form social relationships within the flock
- They get exercise
- They aren't fed hormones or antibiotics
- They have toys
- They get doctored if they're ill (photo of Pearl on the couch, on bedrest after injuring herself. Don't worry - she is fully recovered )
- Are allowed to interact with us on their terms! Did you know chickens can learn their name and respond to it?! So cool.

Truly free-roaming and healthy chickens have higher levels of Vitamin A, E and D. They also have increased calcium which is noticeable when you crack the thick shell of their eggs! Farm fresh eggs also have the benefit of being, well, fresh! Our eggs are hand picked daily, and we deliver straight to your doorstep.
