Wilderness Discovery is Seeking a Seasonal Position for the 2024 Season

Job Description:
We are looking for a seasonal worker to join our team for the 2024 camping season. Your primary goal will be to ensure the camping experience for our guests is safe, clean and meets their expectations
This is a full-time position. You will work 40 hours per week and your hours will include most weekends. On site accommodation's can be provided. This position is from approximately May 13 – October 4.

Responsibilities:

You will work with other staff and the management team to ensure the upkeep of the docks, boats, beach, waterfront, general yard area, along with minor repairs around the facility. If required, the individual will be tasked to provide general assistance to solve issues raised by guests.
You will perform general housekeeping duties to ensure that our cabins and lodge are in top condition for our guests. This includes, sanitizing cabins and the main lodge to abide by our COVID-19 protocol. Laundry duties, and cleaning of various areas. Take guests on Pontoon rides.
The goal is to achieve high aesthetic appeal and safety for our guests.
The individual will answer to and receive instruction from the Wilderness Discovery Centre management team.


Requirements: (we can train you if needed)

- Have some basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
- Have some experience cleaning.
- Be a self-starter, hard worker that wants to learn new skills.
- Ability to help with repairs when something breaks down.
- Be able to operate lawn mowing equipment, as well other equipment.
- Be able to instruct the guests on how to operate a fishing boat.
- Have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic, friendly and dependable.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Other duties as assigned

Certifications or license would be an asset:

- Have a valid Driver's License
- Pleasure craft operator's certificate. Or willing to obtain
- Have a valid First Aid CPR with defibrillator certificate Or willing to obtain
- Have an up to date WHMIS training. Or willing to obtain
- A secondary school diploma


The rate of pay for this position is $22.00/hr.
