Position: Custodian
Pay: $19 to $22 per hour, based on qualifications
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Fredericton and New Maryland Churches, Rectories and Family Centres

Qualifications and skills:
• Dependable, responsible and conscientious
• Self-starter, able to work independently
• Able to lift minimum of 40 pounds and have complete mobility in building and grounds activities (that is: lifting, bending, kneeling and crouching as required)
• Comfortable working on ladders
• Able to work physically in both warm and cold climates
• Experience stripping and waxing floors
• Familiarity with floor scrubbers and buffers, solvents and cleaners, snow blowers, lawn mowers and carpet cleaning equipment
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to get along with others
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Good knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems
• Prior maintenance experience preferred
• WHMIS training completed or have ability to obtain certification
• Additional skills would be an asset.
Duties:
• Cleaning of the sanctuary, offices, floors, hallways and entranceways
• Stocking and cleaning washrooms and kitchens, emptying trash and ordering supplies
• Minor toilet and plumbing repairs, changing light bulbs and fixing door handles and hardware
• Outdoor maintenance - caring for flower beds, shrubbery and lawns
• Preventive maintenance - changing air filters, inspecting sidewalks, windows and masonry, and monitoring heating, electrical and air conditioning units
• Snow and ice removal
• Event support
• Understand and follow all safe practices and rules
