Hello! My name is Maya and I offer private swim lessons in Mississauga,Toronto and the GTA. I am a passionate instructor who is there to support, guide and ensure you reach your swim goals! Whether you are trying to overcome your fear of water, wanting to improve current technique or use swimming as a new fitness venture, I am here for YOU!

I have had a wonderful time teaching swimming and have over 13 years of experience! I am also a certified lifeguard and hold certifications in first aid and CPR. In addition to working extensively with those of all ages (toddlers to adults) as a swim instructor.

I am a Registered Nurse with previous experience at a children's hospital. I have also had the chance to harness my talent for working with children in a variety of other settings - dance instructor, camp counsellor, and Youth Support Worker at a children's rehabilitation hospital.

I pride myself on my calm and thoughtful demeanour. I make sure that my students feel comfortable and listened to during the lesson. I love connecting with my students to find out both their strengths and weaknesses, working to ensure we reach their goals. I believe that swimming is not only a life skill but an activity that can serve to strengthen one's confidence and self-esteem. I pride myself on ensuring that my lessons are fun and enjoyable!

I believe what makes me a great instructor is my genuine passion for wanting others to succeed and feel good about themselves. It makes my day to see a student finally have that "aha!" moment in swimming. It is this thoughtfulness that shines through my personality as an instructor and contributes to a very positive environment.
