N&R Personal Support Worker
Location: GTA
Job Type: Part-time contract work
Work Schedule: Day, Afternoon, Evening and night shifts with a Weekend Availability
Salary: $22-$23 an hour- independent contract work
Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and assistance with individual activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding etc in personal residences or facilities they reside in.
Assessments, anticipates and identifies, and responds to new and changing needs of patients and communicates available resources to patients when needed.
Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of the agency.
Staff are required to travel within the GTA and assist between patients' residences or full time care facilities.
Provide both emotional and practical support to clients.
Assist clients in developing their own skills and resources.
Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
Maintain accurate records of client contact and progress.
Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications
Have one of the following qualifications (required):
Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program
Physical ability to meet the demands of the job (ex: ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach freely for extended periods, ability to lift 40 lbs independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bed)
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service
Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
Comfortable working with persons with a range of disabilities.
Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check
Updated immunization record including TB Test (last 6 months)
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
Valid drivers licence is a bonus but not needed if you are able and comfortable taking clients out
