We are in search of a proactive, well-organized person to help our accounting staff out. The
smooth daily operation of our accounting procedures will be greatly enhanced by the presence
of the Accounting Administrative Assistant. For someone who enjoys administrative work and
accounting, this position offers a stimulating chance to contribute to a vibrant team
atmosphere.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
• Oversee the analysis of data and information
• Answer electronic enquiries
• Compile data, statistics and other information
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Perform data entry
• Provide customer service
• Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
• Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using
manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
• Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
• Post journal entries
• Prepare tax returns
• Prepare trial balance of books
• Reconcile accounts
Qualifications:
• Ability to resolve accounting/reconciliation issues, prioritize tasks, set goals, and
meet deadlines
• Must be patient, flexible and eager to take on responsibilities
• Strong proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suit - Excel, Word, Outlook,
QuickBooks and profile softwares
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu languages would be an asset
• Well organized with a strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with people, able to work independently as
well as co-operatively on a team
• Accuracy – pays close attention to detail and ensures work and information are
complete and thorough
