Office Administrator / Accounting Bookkeeper

The Accounting Bookkeeper/Office Administrator will report to the CEO and Operations Manager, and is responsible for: management of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, billings function, payroll and employee benefits package. The position involves interaction with dealers, clients and CML Shield personnel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important attributes. The position requires limited physical endurance, but requires extended periods of time spent using a computer/computer technology.

The position is compromised of the following areas of accountability:

1) Management of daily accounting operation tasks that include: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger posting, timely month-end closure, bi-weekly payroll.

2) Paperwork involved with employee benefits package and associated government paperwork – ROE, EI, T4, etc.

3) Proficiency in Quickbooks and MS Windows a must

4) Data entry: accurately input financial data into Quickbooks and company specific software– invoices, EFT payments and other transactions.

5) Accounts Payable – accurate completion and timely generation of invoices to clients.

6) Accounts Receivable – posting monitoring fees, doing bank deposits and follow up on past dues/collections

7) Bank reconciliation – reconcile bank statements to ensure accurate financial records.

8) Management of a smooth running accounting/administrative office – answering the phone, dealing with client concerns and forwarding calls as required.

You bring to the job:
• Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role and office administration
• Accounting designation is considered an asset but not a requirement
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft windows, and Quickbooks
• Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast paced environment
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent organization skills, honest and trustworthy
• Excellent analytical and prolem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills , exceptional phone etiquette
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team and contribute to a positive work environment
• Flexible personality and willingness to adapt to a changing and growing role
